UNDERSTAND THE IELTS TEST

Four skills. One complete English profile.

IELTS measures how effectively you understand and communicate in English through Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Learn what each skill measures, why it matters and how the official IELTS scoring system works.

01 ยท READING

Understand, analyse and interpret written English

IELTS Reading checks how well you can understand main ideas, find detailed information, recognise opinions and attitudes, follow arguments and understand meaning in context.

Why is Reading important?

Strong reading skills help you understand textbooks, articles, reports, instructions and professional documents. They are especially important when studying or working in an English-speaking environment.
